Please register for the class that best meets your needs. You may change classes, but please let the receptionist know of the change. We will eventually cancel classes with no attendance.

8 Week Session: Beginning April 21 - June 7, 2008.

Class Descriptions:

Water Walking
Level: All
Water walking is a great way to strengthen muscles, build endurance and increase flexibility. This is a gentle moving class. Let the warm water assist you in reaching your fitness goals.
Location: Pool
Arthritis Class
Level: All
This class uses the warm water of the pool to help ease joint and muscle pain. You will be led gently through a series of stretching, range of motion movements, and balances movements. Feel weightless as you move through water, taking the weight off your joints, allowing you to move comfortably through the water.

Stretch and Balance
Level I
Learn the basics of water fitness in this level I class for beginners. Walking, jogging, rocking, sculling and balance are the fundamentals that will be covered. Feel yourself get stronger each week as you progress, let the water soothe your joints and muscles!

Stretch and Balance
Level II
You will learn the basic moves in level I and advance them. Equipment will be used to increase the resistance and the challenge. You will also do some aerobics for cardio training.

Swim Lessons
Level: Little or no previous experience
This class is designed for someone with little swimming experience. Learn the basic strokes in this small group setting, with individualized attention.

Circuit Training
Level: All
This is a "drop-in" time to get comfortable with the Fitness Room. You will use a variety of strength and cardio equipment to increase your endurance and strength. You will work in a group setting, allowing for support and encouragement. This does not count as a "core class."

Open Swim

Level I: Beginner
Level II: Intermediate

Have fun in unstructured open swim time. Play, swim laps, exercise or just float in the warm water!
Location: Pool
Yoga
Level: All
This class will help you stand straighter, feel stronger, and become more flexible. Come and leave the stresses of the day at the door, and challenge and condition your body in a gentle style. This is a non-religious class.
Location: Renewal Center
Enhanced Fitness
Beginner Level
Based on scientific research and input from older adults, this class combines strength training, flexibility and cardiovascular conditioning. This is a beginner level class with a casual atmosphere.
Location: Parmly Chapel
* All classes 50 minutes unless otherwise noted.
