A Message
from Mick Finn, Senior VP of Operations
Mary Cordts, Executive Director of Parmly LifePointes,
was awarded the prestigious Kal Michels Administrator Leadership
Award at last week’s annual Aging Services Institute in Minneapolis.
In the pantheon of long term care gods, Kal Michels holds center
throne. To have a co-worker receive the award named after him is
a special treat.
|
|
Each year, the Aging Services Institute selects
just one person whose dedication and leadership have enhanced the
environment in their long term care organization and the quality
of life for residents. Mary has been honored here for her leadership
to the greater Parmly community. Increasing the relevance of this
award is knowing that Mary was nominated by her colleagues, community
advisory board members and employees, with letters of support from
residents and their family members.

 |
Building “community,” is essential
to Changing Aging and to viewing and understanding aging in radically
different ways. Mary’s leadership and commitment to innovation,
empowerment and honor through collaboration and embracing the art
of the possible have built an incredibly strong and thriving community
that is ever growing.
Please join me in extending heartfelt congratulations
to Mary on the occasion of this recognition of distinction. The
honor bestowed on Mary reflects on and inspires all of us as we
work to further Ecumen’s mission of creating home for older
adults. Thank you Mary, and congratulations.

The Kal Michels Administrator Leadership Award
is named for the late Kal Michels, former administrator of St. Francis
Home in Breckenridge and Chair-Elect of Aging Services of Minnesota
at the time of his death. Mr. Michels brought a deep commitment
to his community and organization as was evidenced through the many
leadership positions he filled in his community. He was unfailing
in his advocacy for quality care and services for seniors.
Our Mission:
We create home for older adults wherever they choose to live.
Our Vision
for Changing Aging: We envision a world in which aging is viewed
and understood in radically different ways.
