Transit Plus Bus:

We have come a long ways from that tragic day on December 2, 2006 when our garages and three vans went up in flames. We knew it would be a challenge to restore our transportation service, which is a crucial and essential service for our seniors living in a rural community.MORE »

The endowment fund was envisioned during Parmly’s centennial year in 2004 honoring their 100-year commitment and dedication to the seniors in the Chisago Lakes area.  The Parmly Community Council established the fund to ensure that the differences in four distinct areas that set them apart from other senior service providers are preserved for generations to come.

Spirituality remains the cornerstone of the Parmly LifePointes Campus  “The endowment fund will make certain that the spiritual foundation of Parmly is sustained into the next century,” commented Parmy's Chaplain Ron Gerl.

Gardens and grounds that bloom across the campus each spring are a Parmly tradition. Jim McGurk, Grounds Supervisor, said, "I have a passion for creating a beautiful home for Parmly's residents and tenants with our gardens as well as dreams for future landscaping projects.  The endowment fund can support the current grounds and make those dreams come true."

Community Service programs such as Transit Plus, Day Club and At Home Care add an array of choices that enhance life quality for older adults. According to Heidi LaMeyer, Community Services Director,  “As we approach the baby boomer generation and beyond, independence, vitality and quality of life will be our focus. With the endowment in place, it will help to ensure that Parmly will continue to lead the way in excellence in services for older adults".

"Staff is the heart and soul of the Parmly campus. We are delighted that staff development is designated within the endowment funding,” commented Judy Buck, Director of Nursing at the The Residence.  The endowment fund gives everyone on staff the chance to keep learning.  Opportunities will include educational options to understand new technological advances as well as programs to enrich our spirits and provide for individual growth.

The $1 million is just the beginning as donations are always welcome to continue increasing the amount in the endowment fund. Donations can be in the form of cash, securities (stocks, bond, annuities, etc), real and personal property, insurance policies, an estate/will or trust. Any one can contribute including businesses or individuals.
