Why volunteer?:
To make a difference in someone else’s life, personal satisfaction, to make new friends, learn new skills, and to know you are needed. The reasons are endless.
Who should volunteer:
A variety of opportunities and levels of commitment are available and open to all ages.
What are some examples of volunteering?
- Day Club Service Assistant – help with a group program, set up and clean up for meals and/or visit with clients
- Margaret’s House Assistant– spend time with a small group of tenants with memory loss (training provided)

Music - includes singing, piano, guitar, keyboard, accordion, etc. Music can be for special events, worship services, during meal time or leading a sing-a-along and is appreciated in any of our programs and buildings.
- Mail Delivery at Margaret S. Parmly Residence – involves sorting and taking the mail to the Residents' rooms.
- Dining Room/Coffee Time Hosts – assisting with serving refreshments during meals or coffee time.
- Activity Assistance – assist with setting up and taking down materials for programs in any of the buildings, decorating bulletin boards or leading programs of your choice.
- Meals on Wheels - help in the packing and delivery of meals to Chisago Lakes area residents.
- Wheelchair Escort - assist Residents to programs, Chapel, doctor day or dental day (within the building) or take for rides around the building or outside in the park.
- Office - computer work, helping with large mailings, filing, assembling packets of information or answering phones.
- Special Community Events - be part of the planning, preparation of food, serving food, pouring coffee, etc. for Parmly events like the Ham Dinner, Spaghetti Dinner, Golf Tournament or Advent Tea.
Our volunteer list is only limited by the people willing to share their time and talents with us.
