| Ecumen Volunteer of the Year |
 |

Faye VanHorn, May 10, 2007 |
Faye VanHorn received the “Volunteer of the Year” award from Ecumen at the May 10th Leadership Conference and was also honored at Parmly with cake and ice cream.
Faye is an asset for many reasons. She worked here from 1993 starting as a housekeeper and then was a CNA for 7 years before she retired in 2000. Since she found that she missed the residents too much, so she began volunteering in February 2002. She transported residents for Doctor Day, was a coffee time hostess and volunteered in Margaret’s House.
She then found her niche in Day Club, and she now comes one day a week. She even comes on extra days to help with special events like picnics or outings. Carol Thompson said, “It didn’t take Faye long to jump in and help with whatever needs to be done. She is considerate and very aware of the client’s needs. She has a great sense of humor and the clients love to see her.”
She is described by tenants, staff and other volunteers as kind, caring, intelligent, hard working, a team player and fun to be with.
Congratulations, Faye, and thank you for all the volunteering you do at Parmly LifePointes! |
