Parmly LifePointes honored Sheryl Flint, Housing Manager for Isabelle’s House, with the 2007 Isabelle Lindgren award. This year’s presentation was at Parmly’s 7th Annual Employee Recognition Dinner on Friday, February 8 at the Scandia Creamery.
Each year since 1987, the Isabelle M. Lindgren Distinguished Service Award has been given to a Parmly employee for their outstanding, dedicated Christian service to the organization and who exemplifies our mission of serving the elderly. Beginning in 1919, the “Willing Workers,” a group of dedicated women, including Isabelle Lindgren, faithfully served and spent their entire lives caring for the elderly. They would have wholeheartedly chosen Sheryl for this award. |
In her nomination letter, she is described as someone whose “first priority is the people she serves. She makes sure that each resident has the best possible care according to their needs.” Sheryl uses humor to engage them and brings sunshine into their day. She is gracious as well as to the staff, families and volunteers. In a way, Sheryl has “grown up” at Parmly since she began working here in1980. She was first employed as a nursing assistant, then an LPN and most recently appointed the Housing Manager for Isabelle’s House for those with mid to late memory loss. She is concerned when someone is looking lost or unsure, but she her calming nature is reassuring to them.
According to Sheryl, “Success is not the key to happiness, but happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. As a teenager, I didn’t know what Parmly represented. After 27 years at Parmly, caring for the elderly is still a passion for me. I love my job and what I do. This award is a great honor.”
Parmly is proud to honor Sheryl’s steadfast devotion to the elderly with this award and recognition.
