^ Several months ago, Pam Deimel contacted Colleen Guilfoile, Parmly’s caregiver coach, looking for help.
Her uncle, Ted Noreen, had been released from the hospital and was in need of someone to stay with him overnight in his assisted living apartment. Several phone calls later, help was located through private resources and family minds were put to ease for the evening. Pam and her cousin, Gary Noren, were grateful for Parmly’s willingness to assist with this situation.
There are times when a person providing care for another individual finds themselves in need of services and unsure in what direction to turn.
Parmly Senior Housing & Services, in partnership with the East Central Senior Resource Center in Mora is participating in the Caregiver Coach program.
This program provides a caregiver coach who meets with a person to assess the situation and helps determine what options are available that helps the caregiver manage and live their own life while caring for another person.
The caregiver coach is able to provide connections to community resources, offer support, outline options available and provide guidance as needed.
The caregiver coach, while working with the caregiver, also encourages the caregiver to take care of themselves and prepares them for the future and life after caregiving.
Most caregiver coaching situations are longer term in nature than this one, but the sudden need for help is faced by many. If you are in need of a caregiver coach or desire more information,
